The 13th President of Pakistan will be elected on 4th September 2018. The successful conclusion of the presidential election will mark a new landmark of smooth civilian to civilian transition in the troubled political history of Pakistan.
The president of Pakistan is elected through a secret ballot by the Senate and National Assembly of Pakistan and the four provincial assemblies (Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan). The entire parliamentary population of 1174 is entitled to vote. But not all votes are of equal weight. Each of the four provincial assemblies has a total of 65-the weightage calculated on the benchmark of the smallest assembly of Balochistan. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly has 124 member so under the formula to weight their votes roughly two vote cast there for the same candidate will be counted as one actual vote.
